Short Bio

Mathe is a Mozambican National Geographic Explorer based in Gorongosa National Park and a DPhil candidate at the University of Oxford. He earned his bachelor’s degree (BA) in veterinary medicine at Eduardo Mondlane University in 2017 and a master’s in Forensic Anthropology at the University of Coimbra in Portugal in 2020. From 2016 to 2017, he served as a research fellow at the E.O. Wilson Biodiversity Laboratory in Gorongosa, and he joined the Paleo-Primate Project in 2017.
