Research Interests
My research interests are ecology, primatology, conservation, behaviour, primate cognition, and neurosciences.
Short Bio
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Porto, where I am currently pursuing a Master’s in Ecology and Environment. Under the supervision of Dr. Susan Cheyne and Dra. Susana Carvalho, my research focuses on studying White-Bearded Gibbon populations in Borneo, Indonesia. By investigating their ecology, behavior and dynamics, we aim to better understand the impacts of habitat fragmentation on this species and help to develop adequate conservation strategies for their long-term protection.
During my undergraduate studies, I worked in a neuroscience lab, where I participated in a research on neurodegenerative diseases. In the future, I hope to unite my two passions—neuroscience and primatology—by studying primate cognition and behavior.
