Catarina Santos Coelho

Research Interests

My research interests are primatology, ethology and human evolution, especially the behaviour and ecology of primates and how we can use them as models to gather insights about our own evolutionary paths.

Short Bio

I have a background in biology, anthropology, and a specialization in ecology. I’ve mostly worked in mammal behaviour and ecology with an emphasis on wild ungulates. Alongside my experience with camera traps to analyse and monitor ungulate species, I’ve also carried out fieldwork for ecosystem services assessments. In my PhD project I will be taking a deep look into the interactions between sympatric primates and ungulates in Gorongosa National Park as a model to shed light on hominin evolution.
